We’re excited to share our plans for Ipswich Preschool, a new early years setting growing from Ipswich School of Dancing.

Our family-run dance school has brought people together through music and movement for generations. Now, we’re planning to bring that same warmth, creativity and sense of belonging into a preschool for children aged 2 until they start school.

We’re aiming to open in April 2027, subject to Ofsted registration.

Nurture. Learn. Move. Grow.

Our vision starts with children feeling secure, valued and understood. We want to create a place where they can build trusting relationships, explore their interests and grow in confidence at their own pace.

Music and movement will be a special part of our approach, alongside stories, imaginative play, painting, building, investigating and quieter moments.

We’re planning a broad early years experience that follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with caring relationships and play-based learning at its heart.

Familiar spaces, new possibilities

Our preschool will be based at Ipswich School of Dancing on Bond Street.

We plan to arrange our spacious main studio into welcoming areas for different kinds of play, while keeping room for children to move freely. Our ideas include cosy spaces for books and conversation, creative activities, construction play and music-making.

We’re also planning to make use of our enclosed courtyard for outdoor play and exploration. It’s a compact space, and we’re thinking carefully about how to make it inviting and useful for young children.

As these plans develop, we’ll share updates so families can see how the setting is taking shape. Any concept images on our website illustrate our ideas; the final layout and resources may differ.

A partnership with families

Starting preschool is a new experience for the whole family. We want parents and carers to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing what matters to them and telling us about their child.

Getting to know each child’s interests, routines and individual needs will be an important part of building those relationships. We’ll share more about our settling-in arrangements as we move closer to opening.

What we’re working on now

We’re developing the setting, working through the registration process and planning our early years provision. We’re also looking to build a caring team who share our enthusiasm for nurturing young children.

We intend to offer funded early education places, subject to the relevant approvals and eligibility requirements. Further information about sessions, fees, funding and opportunities to visit will follow as arrangements are confirmed.

Be part of our next chapter

If you’re looking for a preschool place in 2027, we’d love to hear from you.

Our Register Your Interest form is open now. It’s a way to tell us what you’re looking for and ask any questions—it does not reserve or guarantee a place.

You can also choose to subscribe to opening news and updates as our plans progress.

Visit our Register Your Interest page or email info@ipswichpreschool.co.uk. We look forward to getting to know you and your family.
